Many beautiful women made Maxim's 2010 Hot 100, but only one was deemed the hottest of the hot: Katy Perry.

Why Perry? "It's that feeling you get when you suddenly realize that the smartest, funniest, coolest girl you know also happens to the best looking and a pretty good skateboarder too," Joe Levy, Maxim editor in chief, explained to ABC News. "All of a sudden, your crush goes supernova, and this is Katy's supernova moment."

Perry, who just released her new single, "California Gurls," made the list alongside Sports Illustrated cover model Brooklyn Decker (#2), "Avatar" actress Zoe Saldana (#3), "Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively (#4) and "Jonah Hex" leading lady Megan Fox (#5).

"[Megan is] a sex symbol for the ages," Levy said. "Megan's sultry looks hit every red-blooded guy right in the gut."

But it seems that the other ladies don't have Perry's unique appeal, Levy said. "[She's] a triple — no, quadruple — kind of hot," Levy told Us Weekly.

Perry isn't the only pop star on this year's list: Taylor Swift (#31), Christina Aguilera (#18), Britney Spears (#54) and Nicole Scherzinger (#24) also made the cut.

A number of Hollywood's hottest actresses also made the cut this year. Last year's #1, Olivia Wilde, fell to #20 this year. She's joined by Angelina Jolie at #38, Emma Roberts at #78 and "The Hills" star Kristin Cavallari at #76.

Other notables on the list include "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (#93), "True Blood" star Anna Paquin (#84), actress Milla Jovovich (#21) and supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio (#63).

Maxim has unveiled its "2009 Hot 100," the lad magazine's definitive list of the worlds most beautiful women.

Topping the list: House's Olivia Wilde, whom Maxim editors say they can't stop "drooling over."

For the first time, a First Lady makes the cut: Michelle Obama debuts at No. 93. Says Maxim, "[President Obama] may be dealing with two wars, an economic meltdown, and a rapidly graying dome, but at least our Commander-in-Chief gets to come home to the hottest First Lady in the history of these United States."

The top 10 most beautiful women (according to Maxim):

1. Olivia Wilde: "We may not know a McDreamy from a McNugget, but when it comes to TV doctors, there is only one who makes our body temperatures rise. We were drooling over the NYC native long before she was injected into Fox's hit medical drama (House)."

2. Megan Fox: "Seriously, do women get more painfully hot than this? Megan Fox has the face of an angel, a body so perfect that God may have carved it out of soap and sex appeal that could melt a unicorn's horn. Plus, we hear she smells like clouds."

3. Bar Refaeli: "If there's any evidence that the Middle East is a land of beauty and wonder Bar is it. The 24-year-old Israeli supermodel with the brain blowing body scorched the cover of the famed Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition."

Marisa Miller, renowned for her many appearances in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues and Victoria's Secret catalogs, is "the hottest woman in the world," according to Maxim magazine's 2008 Hot List.

Scarlett Johansson received second place. Jessica Biel and Eva Longoria Parker took third and fourth, respectively. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elisha Cuthbert, Eva Mendes, Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan and Ashley Tisdale filled out the top 10.

Lindsay Lohan rules. According to Maxim magazine, at least this month, she's the hottest woman in the world.

The "Georgia Rule" actress-troublemaker tops the magazine's eighth annual "Hot 100" list, a ranking by editors weighing buzz and beauty for women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion.

"There is no other star in the world (who) causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay," said Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinek in a statement. "Her every move is watched and reported on."

Not surprisingly, Jellinek described his young, male readership as being "obsessed" with the 20-year-old Lohan, a ubiquitous party girl who spent the weekend soaking up the sun (with a new boyfriend) in the Bahamas.

Jessica Alba had to settle with the No. 2 on the list, which is in the magazine hitting stands Saturday. She's followed, in order, by Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Biel, Ali Larter, Eva Mendes, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, Fergie, Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce Knowles and Katherine Heigl.

Celebrity sisters Ashlee and Jessica Simpson are on the list at No. 16 and No. 41, respectively. Ashley Olsen, half of the mogul acting twins, placed 37th, while sister Mary-Kate didn't make the cut.
