Princess Diana book claims her driver was framed
A raft of alleged inconsistencies in the evidence surrounding the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, has been published in a book by an investigative journalist.

Australian journalist John Morgan claimed he was disclosing a “tidal wave of evidence” that undermined the official conclusion that her death was an accident.
The inquest into the death of the Princess concluded that she and her boyfriend Dodi Fayed were unlawfully killed through a combination of the gross negligence of their driver, who was speeding and was more than three times the French drink-drive limit.
Lord Justice Scott Baker declared that there was “not a shred of evidence” in support of the several conspiracy theories.
One of which, propounded by the millionaire Mohamed Fayed, the father of Dodi, claimed that the couple were "murdered'' by MI6 on the orders of the Duke of Edinburgh.
The inquest’s verdict in April 2008 did little to quell those conspiracies, however, and Mr Morgan’s book is the latest to claim evidence of an alternative conclusion.
Diana Inquest: The Untold Story alleges a cover-up by the authorities in France and claims the driver, Henri Paul, was not drunk.
The book alleges Parisian investigators bungled the inquiry and that documents prove that there was a second body in the morgue when tests were carried out.
He claims there were inconsistencies in the blood samples taken, errors in identifying the body and said key witnesses were not allowed to give evidence at the inquest.
He alleged that tests revealed traces of prescription drugs which Mr Paul was not taking, while finding no evidence of other medication he was known to be using.
Mr Morgan told the Daily Express: “When you carefully put all the pieces of this huge complex evidential jigsaw together, you can see this is a dead person who has been framed.
“Were it not so serious, I would say the inquest carried out at the Royal Courts of Justice in London was a joke.”
Confusion over whether the samples were taken from Mr Paul’s body was suggested at the inquest.
It was asked whether there were two bodies in the room at the time of the post-mortem examination.
Some photographs showed the only body tag on a wrist, other images showed the only tag on an ankle.

The photographer accused of helping MI6 to murder Princess Diana was found in a burnt-out BMW with a hole in his head, a court heard today.
James Andanson died after boasting to friends of having secretly taken "explosive" photos of the Paris crash scene, the Diana inquest was told.
The Frenchman owned a white Fiat Uno, which Mohamed Al Fayed claims he used to cause the fatal collision that killed the princess and his son Dodi.
The Harrods boss believes the photographer was planning to go public with his "involvement" in the alleged British secret service plot when his charred body was found in a forest near his home in the South of France in May 2000.
French Investigating officer Jean-Michel Lauzun told the London hearing that he arrived while the vehicle was still ablaze and saw the corpse alight at the steering wheel with a two inch hole in his left temple.
But police concluded that it was a suicide after a pathologist said the hole was due to the intense heat of the fire after he set alight to himself.
High levels of carbon monoxide was also found in his blood, suggesting Andanson was alive inside the fireball long enough to inhale fumes, rather than being killed beforehand.
But Mr Al Fayed's barrister Michael Mansfield QC suggested he may have been attacked before the car was set on fire.
He said: "We just don't know whether it is a case of a man consigning himself to a bizarre and painful death or whether in fact some violence had been meted out to him first."
Four months after the August 1997 crash, Andanson had bragged to friends that he had trailed Diana's Mercedes into the Alma Tunnel where it smashed into a pillar.
Unlike other paparazzi in the chase, he claimed to have been too "cunning" to get rounded up by the police afterwards and escaped arrest.
His photos from the scene were kept hidden in a safe and would cause a furore when they were published, he insisted.
French police were later tipped off about Andanson's claims, but when they interviewed him he produced receipts to show that on the night of the crash he had been in Lignieres, 170 miles to the south of Paris.
And while he had owned a white Fiat Uno, tests showed that paint flecks on the Mercedes could not have come from it.
Mr Al Fayed claims Diana and Dodi were killed on the orders of Prince Philip because she was pregnant with his child and they were planning to marry.

A sensational new document proving with "near certainty" that Princess Diana was pregnant at the time of her death has been found in France.
An investigative journalist, formerly of the reputable Paris Match magazine, claims to have uncovered the explosive proof from archives at the hospital where the Princess was taken after the crash on the night of August 31 1997.
The document has previously remained hidden for 10 years due to "ethical and privacy" concerns, according to respected investigative reporter Chris Lafaille.
The journalist makes the shocking claims in a new book called Diana, the Inquiry They Never Published to coincide with the tenth anniversary of her death later this month.

He said: "It is a near certainty Diana was nine to 10 weeks pregnant at the time she died, according to papers from the Paris Public Hospitals archives.
"The document dated August 31 1997 was sent to the then minister of the interior Jean-Pierre Chevenement, with copies to health minister Bernard Kouchner, foreign affairs minister Hubert Vedrine and Paris police chief Martine Monteil."
He added: "It has never been claimed or proved to be a fake."
The revelation would explain why the Princess was illegally embalmed in the hours after her death. The process, carried out contrary to French law, meant any potential pregnancy test results would have been rendered invalid.
The pregnancy claims address one of the key questions set out by the coroner to be answered at the inquest into Diana's death, which is due to begin in October. Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker recently listed 20 key issues he intends to explore during up to six months of hearings.
Lord Justice Scott Baker said he wanted to deal with allegations that the Princess was murdered in a criminal conspiracy.
As a result the hearings will examine whether Diana feared for her life, whether she was pregnant and whether chauffeur Henri Paul was drunk or on drugs. They include many of the issues highlighted in a Daily Express crusade for the truth.
Last night, a spokeswoman for Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed, whose son Dodi also died in the crash, said: "If there is any new evidence it should be handed to the coroner so he can properly conduct the inquest." Other questions to be addressed include whether a Fiat Uno or flashing light contributed to the crash.
The coroner wants to tackle such issues so that he can either confirm or allay the public's suspicions amid claims that Diana and Dodi Fayed were murdered by British agents because the couple were about to get engaged and the Princess was pregnant.
The new revelations will raise further speculation as to who might have been father to Diana's unborn child. The Princess had recently been holidaying with Dodi Fayed prior to the fatal crash in Paris.
