What makes clay a precious "survival" clay? The answer lies in its cation (pronounced CAT-i-on) exchange capacity, or C.E.C. The purer the clay, the higher the C.E.C. Let's take a quick trip back to the high school physics classroom so I can explain what that means and why it's so important.
If a substance has the ability to attract, hold, and then remove positively charged particles, we refer to that ability as its cation exchange capacity (C.E.C.).
Remember high school science? Positive particles are attracted to negative particles, and vice versa. If particles have the same charge, they tend to repel each other. In the classroom, the concept is demonstrated with magnets. If you try to stick two magnets together with the same charge, they just push each other away. But if one magnet has a positive charge and one has a negative charge... whoosh! They race towards each other and stick together faster than Brad and Angelina.
So, at the end of the day... it's the "attraction of opposites" that creates cation exchange capacity, which makes this clay so powerful.

When the lint roller is full of debris, you simply throw away the adhesive (adsorbent) part and the unwanted lint and pet hair go out with the trash.
