Cenk Uygur's Departure From MSNBC Shatters The Popular Myth That Only Ratings Matter

Cenk Uygur, host of the popular show, "The Young Turks," decided to leave the not so popular MSNBC channel after experiencing what can only be called a "Howard Beale moment" with MSNBC's corporate executives. Basically, MSNBC's managers gave Cenk an ultimatum: join our exclusive club and stop raising hell or you won't be on television.

Cenk made the announcement of his departure on his internet/radio show on July 20, explaining that he left MSNBC because of disagreements about how to run the show.

Cenk said that MSNBC offered him a lucrative contract on the condition that he accept a limited role at MSNBC and that he would "tone down" his rhetoric against the criminals who run Washington D.C. He was also told to be less wild on television and present himself to the audience similar to a senator or professional politician (like those fake and manufactured personalities Mitt Romney and Barack Obama).

But Cenk refused to compromise his principles for a large paycheck. He deserves our respect and support. He has honour and backbone. The people who work at MSNBC and the other propaganda channels in the Western world have no honour and no dignity. Anchors at MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, CBC, CTV, and BBC are lost souls, telling lies to the public and telling lies to themselves like a pack of cheap whores. They won't ever tell the people the truth about the 9/11 attacks and the great hoax that is the war on terror. If they had it their way, the age of government lies and mass brainwashing will never end.

What is strange about MSNBC not keeping Cenk on the air is that he gave them high ratings, beating both CNN and Fox News in certain demographics. This just shows that corporate propaganda is not all about ratings. Money is not that important to the owners of media companies (they have billions of it already). What they care about most is control and protecting the corrupt political status quo, in which they play an important role.

Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC are first and foremost a political operation, not a for-profit operation. If MSNBC's managers cared about profits they would keep Cenk on the air and promote his show. But they don't care about making money. News corporations and media channels can make a lot of money by telling the people the truth about 9/11 and other government crimes because the people are hungry for the truth and will watch truth-telling shows. Jesse Ventura's show on TruTV "Conspiracy Theory," is a big success and it has big ratings. But the ratings don't matter in the big picture.

There was a great desire for ratings in an earlier time in the television news industry, but not today. What news producers and news managers consider more important is suppressing the truth and protecting the criminal political establishment at all cost, even if it means their ratings will be less. Their job is to keep news anchors in line, manipulate the news, spread government propaganda, and make sure that nobody steps outside the fake "republican-democrat, conservative-liberal" political trap.

Somebody like Cenk is a big threat to the rotten political order because he doesn't hold back. Cenk said that he was told by guys at MSNBC that "people from Washington" didn't like his angry style and brand of politics. He was viewed as an outsider by the executives at MSNBC who consider themselves to be part of the criminal establishment. Corporate news executives and managers care about pleasing the propaganda masters in Washington D.C., not the audience.

II. The Fall of The Propaganda Wall

It is so important that we watch and financially support independent news shows like The Young Turks. The crooks and whores on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, BBC, CBC, NBC, CBS and ABC who are telling the public nothing but government lies are worshippers of power and tyranny. They are abusing the public trust. Of course, not all of them are crooks and whores, but enough of them are to make the whole industry look bad.

Paddy Chayefsky, who wrote the script for the 1976 film, "Network," said in an interview in the 1970s that what is on television "is not true." Chayefsky said:

Television is a great entertainment industry. That's what it is. I think we do entertainment on television better than any place in the world. I mean that's what television is for. You're bored, you want to enjoy yourself, you want to be amused, you turn it on and you have a good time. But, unfortunately, it has a power that transcends anything in the world today. It is a power that deals with the fact that 95% of this country is television saturated. That means 95% of our people get their information from television and television only.

Since Chayefsky made those statements a revolution in media and communication systems has occurred. People in North America and the West no longer get their information from television, but from the internet. The free nature of the internet means that different points of view can be heard, and alternative historical accounts of events like 9/11 can be put forward to counter the false historical narratives put out by the crooked government in Washington and corporate media channels.

Chayefsky was right to be pessimistic about the state of the media in the 1970s, but it is foolish of us to be pessimistic in 2011. Alternative news organizations, radio shows, and web sites are crushing the corporate competition. MSNBC and Fox News are no match for Cenk Uygur's The Young Turks, Amy Goodman's Democracy Now, and Alex Jones's Infowars.

Glen Beck, that half-retarded whore, copied Alex's shtick when he was on Fox News, except for telling the truth part. He achieved success for a while, but that type of success is always fleeting. Scam artists on television like Beck, Wolf Blitzer, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Chris Matthews and other anchors have no staying power because they have no integrity, no morals, and no honour. The media monarchs like Rupert Murdoch and Ted Turner that hire theses asses to manipulate public perceptions and inject false information into their shows will see their empires fall to pieces because the ground under their feet is slowly crumbling.

It is good that Cenk decided to leave a rotten, corrupt and morally bankrupt industry. Television news is poison for the mind. Modern society is contaminated with state propaganda. Individuals who sell government propaganda to the public as factual news and tell lies for a living have no sense of patriotism or civic duty. They are the villains of our time and of our society, not terrorists, not Bin Laden, not Saddam Hussein, not Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, not Muammar Gaddafi, not Kim Jong-il, not any foreign tyrant.

Until we understand that fact, we won't ever put an end to Western state terrorism, government-media propaganda, and the transnational totalitarian system that is bringing America, Canada, England, Australia and other Western countries down to the level of the Soviet Union.
