Robalini's Week 1 NFL Results

Here's my results for week 1
W-L-T record: 3-2-1

Chicago over Atlanta: Win
Chicago 30-12
The Falcons aren't as good on the road as they are at home, and the Bears are an underrated team. I took Chicago at home and was rewarded...

Philadelphia over St. Louis: Win
Philadelphia 30-13
The Eagles look good as long as Vick is healthy and the Cards should struggle this year, so I picked Philly for the road win. Bingo...

Tennessee over Jacksonville: Loss
Jacksonville 16-14
I thought the Jags would be demoralized over what happened to David Garrard, but they played great. Credit to Jacksonville...

NY Giants over Washington: Loss
Washington 28-14
Credit to the Skins as well, for playing way over what I expected...

Arizona over Carolina: Draw
Arizona 28-21
Arizona won, but at the same seven points the line was at. I expected Cam Newton to not play well in his first NFL start on the road: boy, was I wrong...

Oakland over Denver: Win
Oakland 23-20
Oakland was undefeated against the AFC West last season, and the Broncos are an organization in chaos. I picked the Raiders on the road and was correct...

Comments: Even though I was only 3-2-1 (still a winning record) I feel especially good that if I placed bets on the earlier lines of +3 for Tennessee and -3.5 for Arizona, I would've been 5-1. Point spread changes of 3 points are pretty rare, and that I fingered two games where the spread was especially juicy shows my picks are pretty solid. I'll try to get to the casinos earlier from now on!
