The Mayans & Aliens
A Mexican documentary about Mayan civilization has proof that aliens visited earth, according to its producer. Really.
Raul Julia-Levy, son of actor Raul Julia, made the bizarre claims about ‘Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond’ to industry site TheWrap.
He told them the movie will show “codices, artifacts and significant documents with evidence of Mayan and extraterrestrial contact, and all of their information will be corroborated by archaeologists.”
On his own, Julia-Levy sounds like a desperate producer attempting to drum up business for his niche project, but corroboration of sorts was provided by Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado, the Minister of Tourism for the Mexican state of Campeche.
He told TheWrap that the project draws on newly discovered evidence, including “landing pads in the jungle that are 3,000 years-old”.
He said the film has proof of “contact between the Mayans and extraterrestrials, supported by translations of certain codices, which the government has kept secure in underground vaults for some time.”
Rosado gave the filmmakers access to previously unexplored Mayan sites in Calakmul...
Handily, the theatrical release is sometime in 2012, so you’ll have time to watch it before the end of the world, as prophesied in the Mayan calendar for 21 December.
